The standard of textile clothing has improved dramatically in recent years with more modern construction techniques using stronger materials. It most commonly comes in the form of a separate jacket and trousers and is often cheaper to buy than leather, as well as having the added advantage of being lighter and waterproof. However, textile will still not offer the same protection as a leather suit.
It can be purchased for as little as £300 (£100 for trousers and £200 for the jacket) but can cost up to £1,200 for a high spec two-piece suit with extra armour and heated elements. Textile clothing is the most common choice for all-year riders due to optional removable lining (warm in the winter and cool in the summer) and off-bike comfort.
Some other optional motorcycle clothes include body armour (often used in motocross), extra heated clothing (that attaches to the bike's battery) and the neck brace. If you want to know more, why not contact the experts at Swinton Bikes? Call us on 0800 092 6702.
