A bike's indicators are often changed for LED versions as they flash brighter, last longer and are often smaller and more stylish then the originals. Some new indicators are too small to be road legal, or require a flasher relay to ensure they flash at the correct speed to gain a kite mark – see below for more information on kitemark standards.

IMPORTANT: In order for you to take out a policy, we need to make sure that all your modifications are CE approved (look out for a label that says CE) and kite-marked (that's the little double-scoop ice cream logo on your helmet). This means that they're legal for UK road use – some replacement features such as indicators and exhaust systems may not fulfil these standards.
