Suzuki insurance customers have been reassured that the manufacturer's only MotoGP rider will be ready for the first race of the season on Sunday (March 20th).
Spaniard Alvaro Bautista put in 63 laps of the Losail circuit on the second day of the MotoGP test in Qatar, before crashing at high speed ten minutes from the end of the session.
However, team manager Paul Denning confirmed that Bautista got up from the fall without a scratch, and the information the mechanics had gathered throughout the day was very valuable.
Denning explained: "He is almost completely unmarked - so we can put that one down to good fortune and move on to the race weekend with optimism.
"The bike's performed consistently over the two nights."
Consistently poor performances from the GSV-R over the past few years saw veteran rider Loris Capirossi leave the team in the winter, with Suzuki deciding to only run one bike this season.
