Bike dealer helps customers rock out

A motorcycle insurance customer from Whitehaven has put together his twin passions of bikes and rock music to form an innovative new business.

Dave Milling, owner of Dave Milling Motorcycles in the town, uses his dealership - which can accommodate up to 500 people - as a venue for rock concerts every couple of months, Whitehaven News reports.

"It's because of the recession that I've decided to diversify my business," he told the paper.

"The sound in here is amazing, and it's not just motorcyclists who come to the gigs, it's anyone who loves rock music."

He has installed a new bar in the showroom and even has a personal drinks license that allows him to sell booze for 12 events a year.

Dave Milling Motorcycles was founded in 1996 when it imported bikes from Japan and has grown into Cumbria's main Aprilia dealer, expanding with the purchase of a warehouse in 2001.
