Triumph insurance customers may be excited to hear that a replica of one of the most iconic motorcycles ever to appear on screen is to go on sale in the UK.
Laguna Motorcycles of Maidstone has created a Triumph Bonneville styled on the bike used by Steve McQueen to try and evade Nazis in The Great Escape, the Motorcycle News reports.
The bike has a host of aesthetic updates, including an extended mudguard, single-seat re-covered saddle, micro indicators and knobbly tyres, in order to look like the TT Special 650 McQueen rode in the film.
Laguna marketing manager Mick Lee told the publication that the firm is very pleased with how the bike is looking.
"We're going to build a few more of these over the coming months and see what kind of response we get," he said.
Meanwhile, the iconic Porsche 911S driven by McQueen in Le Mans - which was subsequently owned by the star - has just been put up for auction in the US.
