A new book from Veloce publishing offers Triumph insurance customers a first-hand account of how workers at the Meriden factory fought to preserve the legend of the Triumph Bonneville.
Save the Triumph Bonneville, written by former welder and later co-op chairman of the Meriden board of directors John Rosamond, tells of how factory workers staged an 18-month sit-in after the BSA parent company collapsed and tried to close down the factory.
Former minister for trade and industry Tony Benn, who writes the foreword for the book, said the historical account "offers us lessons for today".
He continues: "That is why this is such an important book, and I strongly recommend anyone interested in the future of Britain to read it carefully."
Veloce also published The BMW Boxer Twins 1970-1996 Bible earlier this year, which gives motorcycle insurance customers a fascinating insight into the history of the popular models.
