Harley-Davidson insurance customers may have something to fear after British brand Triumph announced that it has its eyes on the US-based manufacturer's share of the market.
Triumph announced recently that a strong performance in April made it the UK's best-selling brand in the over-500cc sector, pushing Honda into second place, the Guardian reports.
Now the brand is setting its sights on the US, with the aim of grabbing Harley's crown as the country's favourite large-capacity bike, according to Triumph chairman Lord Digby Jones.
"We have launched the Thunderbird straight into the middle of Harley-Davidson's market and it has just been voted bike of the year in America, right in Harley-Davidson's backyard," he told the newspaper, referring to an award from a US-based magazine.
It follows news that Triumph insurance customers have a new Leicestershire dealership, Stratstone Triumph Leicester, which its doors on May 13th.
The showroom is the second new dealership for the Stratstone Group in as many months, following the launch of its sister store in Wolverhampton.
